"Nobles on Wigs and Gowns”

Gentlemen under a solemn call
Who dine and wine in the Bar of the Law
Before the Bench, they stand tall
Pleading the cause of men in open door’

Their language is all Greek to the Lay
Who strive all night and day
Seeking to break the mystery of their wits
Cracking through their words, bit by bit

On their noble heads lies the ‘lying’ stigma
Held highly strong like the Catholic dogma
But the saintly tongue of posterity
Will bear witness to their integrity

Whatever the cascade of reactions
Only the Nobles on Wigs and Gowns
Wear the glory of the ‘Learned’ Crown
Unkingly crown having no reversion

“Living Oracles of the Law”

Living Oracles of the Law
Who the young and old adore
Installed by the Supreme Judge
To bring justice without grudge

Now the question goes…

If the temple is fraught with rot,
What is the fate of my worship?
If the shepherds tend to tend not,
What is the fate of the sheep?

Living Oracles of the Law
Anointed to wage sacred war
To keep the golden gates of Equity
And strike the wicked with no levity

Now the Chief Priest rose…

Embarking on a cleansing process
Invoking the powers of the Grundnorm…
Sanctification is in progress
And it is on like a great storm.

“Law Defined”

Lifeless stream of inks buried in Books
Alive in the courts by Judges’ breath
Living like spirits with hard looks
Hovering a Nation’s length and breadth

A strong sword with great scabbard
Sometimes bent and blunt by the rich
Leaving the poor with placards
Craving for justice beyond reach

A brave Entity sometimes flawed
And made weak in the eyes of the weak
By the bombs of masked overlords
Having overriding technique

An Ass to many with heavy hearts
Whose lives have been torn apart
